Tanam or Tan`am is a village in Ad Dhahirah Region, in northeastern Oman. The village lies just southwest of the town of Ibri in Wadi Aswad. The village is described as "little more than an oasis surrounded by block house" It is an important centre for date production and contains a notable population of Duru peoples, especially since the 1970s, when the gather during the date harvest but then return to their nomadic life." The village contains Tanam Hospital, a 200-bed hospital. The hamlet of Dubayshi lies to the north and the hamlet of Khuldah immediately west.National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. Regions Of Oman
Oman is divided into eleven governorates (''muhafazah''), and has been since 28 October 2011. Each of the 11 governorates are divided into ''wilayat'' (provinces). Regions and governorates before 2011 Before 28 October 2011, Oman was divided into five regions (''mintaqah'') and four governorates (''muhafazah''). The governorates were Muscat, Dhofar, Buraimi and Musandam. Buraimi was created in October 2006 from parts of Ad Dhahirah Region. The regions are further subdivided into 61 wilayat. Al Dhahirah (; ''Muḥāfaẓat aẓ-Ẓāhirah'') is one of the governorates (''muhafazah'') of Oman. It was previously a region (''mintaqah''). It became a governorate on 28 October 2011. Duru People
Duru is a ward and a village in Babati Rural District of the Manyara Region of Tanzania. Duru is one of the five villages that makes up Duru ward. GeoNames (or GeoNames.org) is a user editable geographical database available and accessible through various web services, under a Creative Commons attribution license. The project was founded in late 2005. The GeoNames dataset differs from, but includes data from, the US Government's similarly named GEOnet Names Server.
